ERIC M. CARTER, Sr.

Eric is a proud US. Navy veteran that has relied upon many of his lessons learned from the military to build his renowned multi-state legal practice.  His emphasis on attention-to-detail and his teamwork approach to litigation has made Eric a sought after trial attorney by many distinguished attorneys.  Eric puts people first and treats his clients with a compassion and respect that is unparalleled.

Besides his legal prowess, Eric has distinguishable expertise in management and administration.  After his Desert Shield and Desert Storm tours of duty, Eric received a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of New Orleans as a Chancellor's Scholar.  He then was awarded a full scholarship to attend the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio earning a Master’s Degree in Public Administration.  After graduate school, Eric was selected as a United States Presidential Management Fellow under President William J. Clinton’s Administration.  Several years beyond the fellowship, Eric served in the Department of the Interior assisting and leading teams that managed the multi-billion-dollar Oil Spill Financial Responsibility (OSFR) program.

While working in the federal public sector, Eric applied for and was awarded a full scholarship to Loyola University of New Orleans College of Law.  Eric was elected President of the Student Bar Association at Loyola, only the second African-American to serve in this capacity. He was also selected as a Coach of the Loyola Moot Court Team and a member of the St. Thomas More Inn of Court.

Immediately after law school, Eric joined the formerly-known Abbott Simses & Kuchler, a multi-state corporate law firm with a concentration on environmental and other complex litigation.   As an associate of a distinguished list of attorneys, Eric honed the critical skills of research, analysis, and communication.  He has assisted and acted as lead trial counsel in numerous cases within the state, appellate, and federal courts in Louisiana, Texas, Tennessee, Georgia, Illinois, and California.

Today, Eric is the Managing Attorney of the Law Firm of Eric M. Carter, Sr., LLC.  Although born, raised, and living in Louisiana, Mr. Carter has a nationwide practice focusing on Personal Injury and Complex Litigation.

Eric is a problem solver, an advocate, a licensed real estate broker, a former Little League coach, a friend, and neighbor that helps when and where he can.
